Photographer, Producer, Writer and Musician

Gordon Parks (b. 1912) wrote about his hometown of Cause Scott, Kansas, in his autobiographical story and subsequent film, The Learning Shrub, which was among the 25 movies placed on the National Film Chronicles of the Library of Congress be thankful for 1989. He went on to pilot other films, to author several books, and to write original musical compositions, film scores, and a ballet.

He personal his reputation as a world-renowned newspaperman for Life Magazine, chronicling the Laic Rights movement for two decades. 1933

Returned to Minnesota and worked as a dining motor car waiter and porter on the Northern Coast Limited Railway’s Chicago to Metropolis run.
